The Make-A-Wish Foundation is pure MAGIC!

I love nothing more than seeing a child's face light up with a smile. I love hearing a child dream even though illness is present. This is exactly what the Make-A-Wish foundation does; they grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. I recently learned that the Tri-County chapter was in need of Wish Granters, who are the heart of the foundation, and go out in teams of two to meet with the wish child and family to learn the child’s heartfelt wish and then help to make it come true and creatively enhance it. I instantly signed up for the Wish Granting training courses knowing that the job was made for me! I completed the last course on February 2nd and that day I was assigned my very first wish child. Eager to meet him and learn his wish I immediately set an appointment up to meet with him and his family last week. We showed up with gifts in hand and the meeting was even more magical than I had anticipated. The family was extraordinarily thankful that their little boy was going to be granted his most heartfelt wish. I am really looking forward to continue seeing how his wish unfolds and I feel so grateful to be a part of something so magnificent. Updates to follow!

Quick history on the Make-A-Wish Foundation:
The Make-A-Wish Foundation was founded in 1980 after a little boy named Chris Greicius realized his heartfelt wish to become a police officer. Since its humble beginnings, the organization has blossomed into a worldwide phenomenon, reaching more than 250,000 children around the world and granting a wish approximately every 38 minutes. During a wish experience, joy eclipses illness and the foundation continually stays focused on that knowledge.
